The third edition of the Champion Bowl Tournament Ghana started today at the clay courts of Ghana Tennis Club in Adabraka.
The junior tournament serves as an entry platform into the World Masters Champion Bowl, an international junior tournament held annually in Croatia.
Junior players from all over the country were invited to pitch their strength and skills against each other to determine who represent Ghana in 2017
Tournament organizers, Zion Management Africa Limited believes that the Champion Bowl Tournament has become a regular feature on the Ghanaian junior tennis calendar as it will add to the development of tennis talents.
The 2-day event will have boys and girls between the ages of 12, 14 and 16. Semi-finalist and winners will receive products from headline sponsor Wilson and souvenirs, winners from each age category will embark on a trip to Croatia to participate in the 2017 World masters Champion Bowl Tournament in October.
CEO of Zion Management Africa Limited (ZMAL), Mr. David Derhnick-Coffie in an interview said he is confident the tournament will attract many tennis players “This is the third year in the Champion Bowl Tournament and it’s been very successful and we hope to improve on the success annually”.
He added that “Tennis, like other sports in Ghana can serve as a unifying force for people of different socio-political and ethnic backgrounds and it’s for this reason that we seek to use the Champion Bowl Tennis Tournaments to restore juvenile Tennis in Ghana”.
The 2017 edition has corporate support from Wilson International Sports brand, Sic Life Company Ltd, Indomie Gh., Melcom Group of Companies, Ocean Spring mineral Water, Innolink Ghana.
