Charles Takyi joins German side

Former Ghana striker Charles Takyi has completed a switch to German lower division minnows KFC Uerdingen.

The 31-year-old former Bundesliga star was signed as a replacement for Cameroonian Mohammadou Idrissou.

He made his debut in Saturday’s friendly against VfL Bochum wearing the number 31 jersey.

He had a disastrous season last year, playing only two matches for FC Viktoria Berlin.

Takyi previously played for clubs including, Hamburger SV, FC St. Pauli, Greuther Furth, and Energie Cottbus.

He has also been capped three times at senior level by Ghana after representing Germany at youth level.
