Accra Hearts of Oak legend, Charles Taylor has denied media reports of him alleging that Hearts management members made them lose games during his time at the club because of financial challenges.

The said reports indicated that Taylor made these accusations in an interview with Kumasi 104.1 FM.

Taylor is quoted to have said "during our time at Hearts of Oak, we were sometimes told to lose games because of unpaid accumulated bonuses.

They will tell us to lose the game because there is no money to pay us.” In a sharp rebuttal, he has stated that what is out in the public domain is completely different from the interview he granted to Kumasi FM.

Trying to prove his innocence in an interview with Accra based Vision One FM, Taylor invoked thunder to strike him if he is guilty of what is being said about him.

“I have been deeply hurt with the news going around that I said Hearts played fixed matches.”

“If I said that thunder should strike me when it rains. The majority of journalists are block headed and can’t even write good English. I know I can’t speak and write English so I speak Twi. This is the reason people pick curses anyhow and die prematurely.”

He also hinted that he initially wanted to sue Kumasi FM but has decided to let it slide because of the apologies of the station's management.

“I can swear with my bible that I never said Hearts fixed matches. I wanted to take legal action but some big people from that station have called to apologize,” Taylor told Vision One FM.
