(goalnetwork) -- Swiss football's top scorer Charlie Amoah is among the biggest targets in the European transfer market. Swiss league leaders St Gallen want $6.5 million for the 25-year-old from Ghana. With 21 goals in 28 games so far this season Amoah is one of the top 10 goalscorers in Europe.
However, TSV 1860 Munich's hopes of adding Amoah to their strike force for their challenge in Europe next season have been dashed. Cash is not the problem - the difficulty is 1860's controversial coach Werner Lorant.
St Gallen's general manager, Peter Stadelmann, said: "We've planned Charlie's career with great care. Handled him carefully and groomed him for bigger and better things. But he's got to have the right trainer now, a trainer who can handle him. Not someone as belligerent as Werner Lorant. He would certainly be the wrong trainer for Charlie."
Stadelmann voiced his opinion of Lorant after learning that 1860 have been watching Amoah intensively in recent games.
