Ghanaian midfielder Raman Chibsah once again had a decent outing for clubside Frosinone when they came up against fellow strugglers Empoli in the Italian Serie A.
The two sides who currently occupy the 18th and 19th position in the table both needed a win but had to settle for a 3-3 draw in a game that would easily rank as one of the best in the Serie A so far this season. In a repeat of last season’s Serie B clashes, this was another six-goal thriller with twists and turns as Empoli snatched a 3-3 draw away to Frosinone.
Matias Silvestre scored an own goal to put Frosinone in the lead on the 8th minute mark while Daniel Ciofane’s 54th minute penalty and 63rd minute drive ensured the goals for the home side. Mija Zajs, Matias Silvestre on the right end of goal this time, as well as Salih Ucan were the men who made sure Frosinone did not have it all their way at the Sadio Benito Stirpe.
However, it was the performance of in-form 25yr old hard tackling Ghanaian Raman Chibsah that once again caught the attention of many. Not only was he precise and incisive with his passes in the middle of the park, but provided some shield to the defence by breaking the play of the Empoli side at some points in the game.
Such has been his consistency this season that, Chibsah’s adventure on the afternoon also saw him play a vital role in Frosinone’s third goal, allowing himself to be used as the decoy for his side’s third goal as captain Daniel Ciofane made the powerful run towards goal.
Chibsah’s Ghanaian compatriot Afriyie Acquah also starred for Empoli in the encounter.
The former Juventus midfielder and his Frosinone side will now focus their attention on SPAL, who they face in another crucial game in matchday 10 of the Serie A.
