Schalke 04 striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is elated by the club's acquisition of Ghana left-back Baba Rahman.
The defender completed a season-long loan move from English giants Chelsea earlier this week, after struggling for regular action at Stamford Bridge.
Baba made his Schalke debut in a 2-1 preseason victory over Italian outfit Bologna on Thursday.
"I am happy that he is now a part of our team," Choupo-Moting, a Cameroon international, told his club's official website.
"I know Baba from our time at Augsburg and took an interest in how he was doing at Chelsea.
"Then we crossed paths at the [2015] Africa Cup of Nations. He is a great guy and will fit into the team well.
"It could happen that we end up working together down the left wing."
Baba is not new to the Bundesliga, having played for Augsburg and Greuther Furth in the past before joining Chelsea.
He was also on the books of Asante Kotoko and Dreams during his time in Ghana.
On the international stage, Baba has 19 caps for the Black Stars, including outings at the 2015 Afcon.
Choupo-Moting, meanwhile, netted six times in 28 league appearances for the Royal Blues last season.
