Christian Atsu, Newcastle United winger
Christian Atsu says he wants to stay at Newcastle United for “many years” as he targets a long and fruitful relationship with the Magpies.
Despite interest from other clubs, the 27-year-old revealed he was happy to continue at St. James Park under the stewardship of ‘father-figure’ Rafa Benitez.
In May 2017, the Spaniard signed the winger on a permanent deal after Atsu initially impressed on loan at the Club.
“I’m very happy at Newcastle, I’m happy with fans, especially the manager Rafa Benitez and the entire staff. I would love to stay there for many years but it will depend on me and my performance. I have to do my job” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com
Atsu was instrumental for Newcastle last season as they finished 13th with 45 points in the English Premier League.
