Citizens form football club

Nkoranza (B/A) April 27, GNA - Five citizens of Nkoranza have teamed up to form a football club under the name Nkoranzaman United as a measure of tapping and utilizing the leisure hours of the youth of the area The five members have consequently constituted themselves as the executive management body of the club.

They are made up of Nana Kofi Kure, a businessman who heads the executive body, Mr. Kwasi Atta, driver, Mr. Collins Osei, businessman, Mr. Edward Asare, a carpenter and Mr. Ahmed Asare, also a businessman. Nana Kure told the GNA Sports in Nkoranza that the five citizens expressed their concern about the plight of the youth, most of whom were unemployed and have no vocation or activities during their spare time. He said the concerned citizens therefore decided in their own small way to bring the youth together through sports to help in making use of their time to unearth talents and assist in solving the unemployment problem amongst them.

Nana Kure said the Club has so far brought together 70 footballers in the categories of the ages of 12, 17 and above 18 and they are feverishly preparing to compete in the Division Two league. Mr. Augustine Danso, captain of the Club appealed to the District Assembly, corporate bodies, the residents and non-resident citizens of the area to lend their support to the Club to make it reach greater heights.

Meanwhile, a citizen of the area based in Ireland, Mr. Isaac Asare, alias Castro, has donated two sets of jerseys to the Club.
