Berekum Chelsea striker Emmanuel Clottey scored his 12th CAF Champions League goal on Saturday in their 4-1 defeat at Al Ahly.
The Ghana international is now one goal away from equalling Stephen Worgu's 13-goal haul in the 2007 competition as a player of Enyimba.
Clottey scored from the spot in the 43rd minute after he had been brought down inside the box by goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami.
The 24-year-old powered in a low grounder to reduce the deficit to 2-1 before the half-time whistle.
But Chelsea were overpowered in the second half as Soliman scored two goals for the six-times winners.
Chelsea will host Al Ahly at home in a fortnight for the return encounter.
