Club Africaine Arrives For Match Against GoldFields

Accra,(Greater Accra Region) 8, Oct. Tunisian champion club, Club Africaine, arrived in Accra today for their CAF Champions league match against their Ghanaian counterparts, Obuasi Goldfields at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October eleven. The squad, made up of 17 players and 31 officials and supporters, is led by the president of the club, Mr Belallamine Sheriff. Speaking to newsman, Mr Sheriff said Club Africaine "attaches great importance" to the match and has prepared well for it. He said the match, which is crucial for both sides, could go either way. Newly-signed on French coach, Exbrayat Rene, said he respects Ghana soccer and knows Goldfields will give them a tough match. "But this time round, they (Goldfields) will meet a transformed and confident Africaine. "Our game with Goldfields in Tunis was our first match in the Champions League, so we were not rpt not very polished. But now, with seven matches behind us -- three in the League and four in the domestic league - we are now well-prepared tactically to give Goldfields a good match." Coach Rene said he is confident of victory but will also be content with an away drawn game. They were met by Mr Kojo Nonoo, chief executive of Goldfields, and officials of the Ghana Football Association.
