Two Romanian are top on the list of coaches favourite to take over the head coach position of Premier League leaders Medeama SC, footy-Ghana.com can exclusively reveal.
FootyGhana understands the club has resolved to appoint a foreign trainer with experience of the local game and we can confirm that former Aduana Stars coach Cioaba Aristica who abandoned the club after the first round of the 2011/12 season as well as compatriot Dorian Marin are high on the list of options the club is weighing.
The latter, Marin was twice the head coach of the Eritrea senior national team and the U-17s in 2006 and 2007 before he moved to take control of Ugandan club Uganda Revenue Authority in January 2008.
Former AshantiGold and King Faisal coach Zdravko Logarusic who will be leading Kenyan side Gor Mahia to face ENPPI in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend’s name has also come up but Medeama are tilting towards choosing one of the Romanians.
Aristica who is currently the head coach of Omanian League leaders Saham Sports Club may be overseeing his final game for the club when they travel to face Al Musannah on Thursday as talks between him and directors of Medeama are far advanced.
Medeama effective today, have rescinded their decision to sign on deputy coach Shaibu Tanko over issues of his commitment to the team in recent weeks. Evans Adottey has been made to step in temporarily and will lead the team to face King Faisal in the Glo Premier League this weekend.
