Kumasi, May 11, GNA - Bashiru Hayford, Head Coach of Kessben F/C has praised his players for their resilience and hard work that enabled the Club to snatch a point in the team's 17th Week encounter against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their Glo Premier League match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday. Kessben on Sunday fought gallantly to force the Porcupine Warriors to a 1-1 drawn game, having beaten the latter 1-0 in the first leg at Abrankese.

Coach Hayford however said that it was unfortunate for the skipper of the side, Iddrisu Yahaya, to have been red-carded in the early stages of the match, saying the playing body did well to cope with the numerical disadvantage throughout the match without loosing focus. In an interview with GNA Sports, he attributed the string of successes chalked by the team in recent matches to the tactical discipline and commitment of players and urged them to strive hard to sustain the momentum.

Coach Hayford said the team has the aim of finishing among the top four Clubs by the end of the League and therefore urged all well-meaning supporters to stay solidly behind the team to help it realise the objectives. On the outcome of the match, Kessben should have sealed the game in the first half but erratic shooting upfront denied them the needed goals as they kept bombarding the goal area of Kotoko. The lack of taking the chances enabled the Porcupine Warriors to come back into the game, especially in the second half with Kwadwo Poku snatching the equalizer for his side in the 66th minute after Kessben had taken the lead in the first half through Anum Lanquaye in the 31st minute.
