TP Mazembe coach Patrice Carteron has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant Black Stars job.

The position has become vacant following the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah last week.

The Ghana FA has begun a fresh hunt for a new coach with as many as seven coaches reported to have applied for the job so far.

But the former coach of the Mali national team says he’s not interested in the Black Stars coaching job, at least for now, and focused on his adventure with the DR Congo side in the African Champions League.

“Maybe later, but not now. Ghana is a big football country, and the fans are wonderful. But I am happy at TP Mazembe and will not love to go anywhere now,” he said

“TP Mazembe is a great club and the president is a wonderful person to work with.

“Of course, it will be great coaching Ghana, but I have a contract with TP Mazembe. I felt great when I beat Ghana in the Afcon 2013 in South Africa, and I will love to coach them one day.

Why not? I am a coach and can move anywhere at any time but not this time for the Black Stars.”

Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac is believed to be the front-runner for the top job.
