At a time when the national team, the Black stars, has demonstrated that they lack punch in their attacking machinery, it is prudent to revisit the question people have been asking in various sittings about the whereabouts of ERIC BEKOE. This player, by all accounts is the best that we have on the continent apart from Asamoah Gyan and I would entreat the Coach to search for him debarring all politics to help redeem our nation. The player in question was the goal king in Ghana and also in Egypt where he is now playing for Petrol Jet. The status of Ghana’s football is very high and so are the stacks . Besides, we have an image to protect which is larger than any individual. Therefore, it is imperative that we bury the ugly politics in our football circles that seem to favor agents who have connections at the GFA and search for the best cream to represent our nation. I have nothing against Prince Tagoe and Adiyah but the honest truth is that their current form does not match that of the Bekoe who has been sidelined for reasons that Ghanaians want to know at a time when we are really struggling to score goals. Football is our life’s blood and we cannot afford to deal with excesses because of the greed or otherwise by some few people.

The current sequence of events are apparent that our attacking machinery which relies solely on one man needs restructuring. The past African Cup of Nations and the World Cup gave credence to the fact that we lack bite upfront and it was evident that we needed to beef up our attacking machinery. Prince Tagoe has outlived his usefulness in competitive marches and he has ‘lost step’. This can be measured in all his matches prior the World cup and after. Adiyah needs time to develop his game to a level that would qualify him a leading role in the Black Stars because as of today his standard is not there yet. Let us get busy and be realistic, can Adiyah or Prince Tagoe in their current form lead our team against any formidable team like Brazil and win? Football is about winning and we have to get serious before we get chewed up by complacency and personal interest. Kaka and Rabino are very great who have given way to a much more vibrant youth who are now representing Brazil. Prince has duly served but it is time for him to give way to other young and talented Ghanaian players to show case their talents.

Today, the Ghanaian soccer fans have started questioning the whereabouts of Eric Bekoe, the prolific goal puncher, in view of our precarious situation. Others have also pitched in the idea of motivating Ahmed Toure to naturalize and play for our dear nation which is also a good idea. These inquisitions are all indicative of the serious nature of our attacking machinery and I would entreat the Coach to start tracking the whereabouts of Eric Bekoe because we need him.

The art of football is not about the beauty of one’s style of play but the use of the art or formation to win matches. In other words, football is about winning matches and that is the bottom line. Based on this assumption it is imperative that we identify all the talents available to represent our nation at all encounters. Coach Plavi, the African Cup of Nations is coming up and very soon the World Cup Qualifying Series will begin and you need to prepare our men very well. The previous Couch did a lot of scouting himself based on certain leads, it will serve your interest to pursue that route in other to get the best material to represent our country instead of relying on officials who are there representing AGENTS of our footballers. The pedigree of our game is very high and it takes quality players to defend our status so get busy before disgrace yourself, the team and the nation.
