Mr Yaw Adjei-Duffuor, Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister on Thursday expressed the region's preparedness for the construction of a proposed 30,000 capacity stadium in Sunyani.
He gave the assurance when consultants of the project, led by Nana Osei Bobie, Chief Executive of Mone Star Limited, of Accra, financiers of the project, called on him after inspecting a 27-acres land earmarked for the project.
The Deputy Minister said the project was dear to the hearts of the people in the region and are determined to see it constructed in time to be used as a venues should country to host the All African games in 2008
He therefore appealed to the contractors to endeavour to complete the project within the stipulated period.
The estimated cost of the project to be started early next year is not immediately known but it is being sponsored by the Central Bank of China.
Among the facilities to be provided are a hostel of 80 rooms, a gymnasium and two courts each for table tennis, netball and basketball. It will also take care of a swimming pool.
