Coronavirus: Dr Prince Pambo calls for postponement of all sporting activities

Famed medical practitioner and sports physician, Dr Prince Pambo has advised the country to postpone all sporting activities due to impromptu and widespread Covid 19 outbreak.

The future of football in the country will be decided in the next two weeks after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) failed to meet the deadline of CAF.

The continent football governing body wrote to the football federations to provide them with their plans after the break of the virus.

Speaking to Kumasi based Radio Station Light FM, "It won't be appropriate to continue football within this abnormal times, let's monitor Covid 19 pandemic and make sure we are convince that the situation is stabilise and wait until August, September or maybe October.

Doctor Pambo is a first Ghanaian doctor on the CAF Medical Committee. He was in charge of medical duties at Nations Cup in Egypt last year.

"It is true most of the advance footballing countries have started training but we should bear in mind that they have expert medics and personnel and infrastructure to make sure everything is done right.

"We shouldn't copy blindly. Let's consider our terrain and manage the situation very well before we even think of starting normal football activities," he concluded.

Indefatigable medic has served as a medical manager for the various Ghana National teams over a decade.
