Coup plot against Nyantakyi

President of New Edubiase United, Abdul Salam Yakubu, has alleged that some Ghana Football Association Executive Committee aspirants who lost the elections, are planning a massive coup d'état against the GFA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Salam Yakubu, mentioned former top officials Fred Crentsil and Cudjoe Fianoo as been part of those scheming to sabotage Nyantakyi's tenure, claiming he has substantial evidence to back his claims.

In a show of bravado and open support for the GFA chief, Yakubu, is daring the persons involved ' to bring it on', if they attempt to render Nyantakyi's administration ungovernable.

The GFA elections recorded some major casualties with certain stalwarts, Fred Crentsil and Cudjoe Fianoo, losing their seats on the Executive Committee.

During the regional elections, Central Regional capo, MNS Doe, lost to young and affable Roy Arthur, while Adam Munkaila also lost the Northern Regional seat to another newcomer, Abdulai Alhassan.

Salam Yakubu, revealed that the failed aspirants are planning to make Nyantakyi's administration unpopular.

“I have evidence that those who lost the elections are planning to gang against the FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi,” he told Accra-based Atinka FM.

“They claim Nyantakyi did not help them.They have held series of meetings to hatch a plan to destabilize the administration of Nyantakyi.

“But we’ll not allow that to happen. People must understand that it was an election in which they lost. They are not the only people qualified to be on the Executive Committee.

“Some of us are ready for them and we’ll show them there are men in Ghana football.”

Cudjoe Fianoo, after losing his place on the GFA's Executive Committee, decided to step down as a member of the Black Stars management committee, birthing rumours of bitterness.
