Crack golfers battle for honours next Saturday

Accra, Aug. 6, GNA - The Tema Golf Course plays host to elite Ghanaian golfers in a new-look monthly competition on Saturday, August 14, this year.

And for the first time, the competition would also embrace junior golfers from all the clubs in order to give them the rare opportunity of understudying their experienced colleagues.


Ace captain Alex Fiagomey is to lead the Tema golfers who include Kofi Gyewu, Nii Ankrah, Nana Antwi Boasiako and Dr Owusu Baah to upstage their counterparts from Celebrity, Bok Nam Kim and Achimota golf club. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Spokesman for the Tema Golf Course, told the Dr N. P. Mapuranda, Zimbabwean Ambassador to Ghana, and Mona Captan. Also to thrill the fans are youngsters Paul McCauley and Peter Amenyo who have been tipped for the top spot award.

The competition kick-starts at 0800 hours GMT and not 1400 hours as earlier stated.


At stake would be prizes for both distinguished seniors and junior golfers.
