Ghana and Nigeria secured promotion from ICC Africa Division 2 after an exciting final day of the tournament.
Sean Phillips was once again the star, smashing 80 not out, meaning he scored an incredible 446 runs at the event, as Nigeria won a dramatic clash against Tanzania by six runs.
Ghana pipped Botswana to second place, after winning a decisive clash between the two teams by 54 runs, despite Botswana defeating Tanzania by three wickets in the morning. Ghana had also recorded a victory over Rwanda by seven wickets.
In other games, Mozambique defeated Malawi by 21 runs and Sierra Leone defeated Rwanda by six wickets.
Nigeria and Ghana will now take part in Africa’s main regional qualifier, in July, with both sides looking to make the global qualifier for the ICC World Twenty20 2012.
