Controversial football administrator Takyi Arhin has labeled the current Ghana FA administration as the most corrupt in country’s football history.
Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi revealed last week that his administration was suffering from the perception of corruption due to past experiences from some former officials.
But the ex-BA Stars Director, who is an avid critic of the Kwesi Nyantakyi led-administration has waded into the debate by dismissing the claims of the Football Association’s chief describing it as a big joke.
“I cannot believe that Kwesi Nyantakyi will make such an assertion. This is the most corrupt FA that we have witnessed in the history of this country,” Arhin told Accra-based Peace FM.
“This is the only administration that camp delegates by bribing them ahead of congress. I was part of the campaign team and know what I’m talking about.
“They used dubious means to disqualify persons who try to compete with him (Nyantakyi) for the presidency, when he also fell short of the same procedural errors.
“We haven’t forgotten about the Mid-Sea issues as well.
“An Executive Committee member Winfred Osei Parma said he knew referees who took bribes (some even in dollars) but as we speak he has not been summoned to the ethics committee.
“Look at the fragrant proposal sent to the Ministry of Sports for monies to be paid to players of the Black Stars as winning bonus fraught with malice and corruption.
“He who calls for equity must come with clean hands. And so for the FA president to come out to say what he said, is least unfortunate and must be condemned in no uncertain terms.
The Ghana Football Association has become a target of public criticism over allegations of corrupt practices.
Critics have alleged time without number that members of the country’s governing body are using their position to line their pocket citing a number of wild claims without backing them with concrete evidence.
Officials have insisted the GFA is not a mafia organization and have put in place several water-shed systems of checks and balances.
