Dangme East Juvenile Football Association Elects New Executives

The Dangme East Juvenile Football Association (DJFA) has elected new executives to run this year’s Dangme East District Colts league under the supervision of the Chairman of the Dangme East District Football Association, Mr. Syllas Numo Tsaitey.

The new Executive is made up of four permanent members who according to the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) new rules have four (4) years mandatory term to steer the affairs of Juvenile sports activities in the district from 2012 to 2016. They include Mr. Dennis Narterh Adzigodi (Newly Elected Chairman), Tetteh Noah Dornu - Leiku (Vice Chairman), Okronipah Quarshie Prosper Narterh (Secretary), Tanihu Azumah (Organizer), and Mr Francis Amam (Treasurer).

In an exclusive interview with the newly elected Chairman, Mr. Dennis Narterh Adzigodi who is also the CEO of Denart Soccer Academy was full of praise for the participating teams especially the current Dangme East District Football Association Chairman, Mr. Syllas Numo Tsaitey for doing so well in re – branding sports in the district. He said young sports talents abound in the Ada district but lack of sponsorships and management for these players by Opinion leaders, traditional authorities and the District authorities have always contributed to these talents going untapped and has therefore called on all especially the Rich in the district to invest in player management since it has now become one of the best lucrative businesses.

Speaking on the league in the district, he said the new administration will focus on increasing the number of clubs that will participate in the league through proper outsourcing for sponsorships to finance the colts’ league. Mr. Adzigodi observed that, one of the major factors affecting the number of teams participating in the league was as a result of lack of funds to run these clubs. He mentioned other factors such as officiating and registration fees and pledged that the new executive will do their best to secure sponsorship deals for the league in order to get strong teams to represent the district at the colts’ level in the Greater Accra Region.

He was full of praise for players like Doetse Agbasie (now with Tudu Mighty Jets), Michael Gorleku (also with Pure Joy F.C) and others who have all played in the Ada colts and the Third division leagues and through their hard efforts are now playing for top clubs in the country. He has therefore urged all the young players in the district who will be playing in this year’s colts’ league to emulate them and take their training very serious so that they can become the stars they dream of.

Mr. Dennis Narterh Adzigodi was also thankful to all the teams and asked them to support his office and the executives so that they can achieve their plans for the district. He has also asked all the sitting MPs and newly Parliamentary candidates for the Ada and Sege constituencies to support the colts’ league in the district. The newly elected chairman was also full of praise for Mr. Divine Otu Agorhom, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Sege constituency who has also managed two players from the district and has even sent them for trials outside the country and has called on all to emulate his effort.

The newly elected executives have also thanked all the participating teams and also thanked Dennis Narterh Adzigodi (AKA Dr. Nart) the newly elected Juvenile Chairman and the CEO of Denart Soccer Academy in Ada for his good efforts of helping to develop and groom young talents in the district and his plans to develop colts’ football in the district and has called on all to support the new executives.

About his plans of developing colts’ soccer in the district, he disclosed that, he will work hard to get sponsors to sponsor this year’s colts’ league. He said he will work hard to award trophies to the winning teams in both the under 12, 13 and 17 categories in the upcoming colts’ league in the Ada district. In addition to that he will try to organise Award gala night to honour all winning teams and outstanding players at the end of the 2012/2013 colts league season. He also added that he will do his best to organise friendly matches for all the clubs in the district in order to expose these players to the outside world. He hinted that special committee will be put in place to effectively manage the colts’ league in the district adding that he will create a website for the District FA.

Mr. Adzigodi also known as Dr. Nart himself a seasoned sports Journalist in the district and now with Sena Radio 104.7 FM in Ashaiman has also promised to raise a special selected team from all the clubs that will be playing in this year’s colts’ league to form a formidable team for the district which will be used for the proposed special friendly matches between the well-established academies in the country.

He urged the District authorities and all the traditional leaders to do all that they can to mount metal goalposts on most of the football fields in the district especially the Big Ada Presby Park and the Ada Foah Dove Park which serve as the two main ceremonial parks in the district.

He finally called on corporate Ghana, Business men, foreign partners and other benevolent organizations and institutions to come and support football in the Dangme East District.

In other related development the NDC parliamentary aspirant for the Ada constituency will be presenting thirty (30) set of jerseys and sixty (60) pieces of footballs to all the football clubs in the district as a way of promoting sports activities in the district.

The clubs that will be playing in this year’s Dangme East Colts’ League includes; Denart Soccer Academy, Donroo Football club, Real Ada Academy, Metallic Babies, Okor Babies, Young Kotoko, Adom sports Academy, Sharkar 04 FC, Tama young Babies, Sunstar FC, Galaxy FC, Coastal United-Sege, Heroes Stars FC.
