Djurgarden IF have announced a net profit of €4.5m in 2014 thanks to the transfer of Ghana defender Daniel Amartey to FC Copenhagen.
The 20-year-old was sold to the Danish giants for a reported fee of €2.5m – representing more than half the amount announced as net profit for the club.
The amount announced, was arrived at following statutory deductions such as taxes, agency fees and solidarity payments made to feeder clubs in the year under review.
Three other players were transferred by the club, but Amartey’s move is clearly the biggest contributor.
The youngster enhanced his transfer ratings with his sterling performance for Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Inter Allies man featured gallantly for the Black Stars at the tournament staged in Equatorial Guinea until his progress was hampered by an ankle injury.
