Ghana winger David Accam says he wants to leave a mark in the inaugural season of MLS newcomers Nashville SC.

The former Chicago Fire attacker joined Nashville immediately after being traded from Philadelphia Union to Columbus Crew.

Accam will be a member of the Nashville team that will be making their Major League Soccer debut in 2020.

"I find myself lucky to be in Nashville," he told the club's channel. "I have stayed in many cities across the world and even though I have been here twice, so far I think I will rate Nashville higher compared to most of the cities I have stayed in," he added.

Nashville will open their MLS 2020 season against finalist Atlanta United. However, Accam, one of the most experienced Ghanaian in the MLS insists the first Nashville team will have to leave a mark for the future generation.

"At the moment I want to help Nashville come into the League and do really well. Make the playoffs and hopefully win trophies," he said.

"We are the first set of players coming to Nashville, so we will be the benchmark for the team. For us, we need to set good goals, we need to try and leave a mark on the team.

"We need to do everything to set the tone for this club."

Nashville SC acquired attacker David Accam from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for $450,000 in allocation money ($350,000 in General Allocation Money and $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money), effective on January 1, 2020.
