Accra, July 15, GNA - Mr O. B. Amoah, a Deputy Minister of Education and Sports on Friday expressed the hope the Euro- Africa Zone II Davis Cup play-off between Ghana's Golden Rackets and Georgia at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium would cement the friendship between the two countries.
He said although sports create keen rivalry among participating teams, the Davis Cup tie should bring Ghana and Georgia closer rather than divide them. Mr Amoah was opening a three-day Davis Cup play-off competition between the two countries at the Stadium on Friday. He urged them to accept the results of the game in true sportsmanship, calling on both players and officials to promote friendship that would last forever.
