Ghana's leading sportswear company, Decathlon Ghana, as part of its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle among all Ghanaians through sports, has organised a "Sport4all" challenge in Accra.
The event which took place at the Decathlon Sport Stores at the Junction Mall on Saturday gave children, as young as four years of age and above, the opportunity to take part in sport activities which is Decathlon’s aim of making sports accessible to everyone despite their age and class.
The challenge was made up of ten different sports activities including the popular ones and those that were less known among Ghanaians.
Participants took part in basketball, penalty shooting, step race, mini golf, 50m sprint, and the less known ones; soft archery, hockey, petanqe and estafette.
Decathlon Ghana official, Mr. Max Van Ommen in an interview, said the purpose of the challenge was to give participants the opportunity to take part in new sports that were introduced at the event.
"Decathlon challenge which is focused on kids is to encourage them to try new sports," Mr. Ommen explained.
