Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah says he would only make a decision about his future in the Italian Serie A when the current season ends.
Appiah?s brilliant displays for Brescia this season alongside the great Roberto Baggio in the Bergamo club?s midfield has attracted the interest of top Serie A clubs like Roma and Inter Milan and Parma who loaned Appiah out to Brescia.
Appiah says while the prospect of playing of one o Serie A?s big guns remains a powerful pull, he feels indebted to Brescia for offering him the opportunity to prove to the world that he is a good player. Appiah took his tally in Serie A to five with the opener for Brescia in their 3-0 win over Atlanta last Sunday.
That would sure have attracted glances from Rome and Milan where the Ghana captain is held in high esteem. Appiah says however that any decision on his future would have to wait until the end of the season.
"At Brescia, the league title looks a distinct possibility. We are always up against relegation but as a player, you always want to win something. You want to be involved in the big games and for the big clubs.
But Brescia has been a wonderful experience. Parma has expressed an interest in taking me back. There is Roma and then Inter. What I want to do now is to concentrate on Brescia and see them through the league. After that we would deal with the other issues?.
Another reason why Appiah would love his Brescia experience is the caliber of players he plays and trains with. The lifeblood of Brescia now is Roberto Baggio, the divine ponytail and one of the greatest names in world football. There is also Spanish great Pep Guardiola alongside him in midfield.
Appiah says it is an honour to play alongside such great names.
?When you play alongside such names like Robbie Baggio, and Guardiola, they make the game easy for you. Because of his age, we do the running for Robbie but he is a great thinker of the game and makes life on the field so easy?.
