Veteran Ghanaian football supporter, Abraham Boakye, also known as One Man Supporter, has made an argument for the recall of Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew.
One Man Supporter reasons that the contributions of the legendary Abedi Pele, who is the father of Dede Ayew, and Jordan Ayew's recent form should count for something.
Speaking on Angel FM, One Man Supporter claimed that Jordan Ayew's outstanding performance in Ghana's games against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers is nature's way of ensuring that Dede Ayew gets the chance to play at the 2026 World Cup.
"Nobody can drop Dede from the Black Stars. Dede Ayew will play at the 2026 World Cup before retiring from the Black Stars. If we could do without the Ayews, God wouldn't have allowed Jordan Ayew to score those four goals in the World Cup qualifiers. Those goals from Jordan are instructive and important," he said.
Andre Dede was excluded from Ghana's squad for the games against Mali and C.A.R on June 6 and June 10, respectively.
In his absence, his younger brother, Jordan Ayew, stepped up, scoring a late equalizer against Mali in Bamako and netting a hat-trick in Ghana's 4-3 victory over C.A.R.
According to coach Otto Addo, the door to future selection has not been shut on Andre Ayew, but any decision on him will be taken purely based on the interests of the Black Stars.
"Let me speak for Jordan. It's his brother," Addo said. "Of course, he wants him to be next to him, but what will happen is my decision, it's our coaching staff's decision."
"As a brother, he would like him to be next to him. But I have a responsibility for the national team, for Ghana, and I have to decide what is best for the team. Who knows? Maybe he's there, maybe not, but I don't know."
"Maybe I'm not there anymore. We don't know. We don't know what will happen."
Jordan Ayew has scored 28 goals in 104 appearances for Ghana, while Andre Ayew holds the record for the most appearances with 120 caps, scoring 24 goals.
