The Black Satellites skipper Ayew Dede has stated that his team is starving to win the remaining matches as they bid to secure a slot in this year’s World Youth Championship. “We are set to go in the remaining group matches. Our priority is to win and qualify for the semi-finals.

“The whole nation back home is looking at us and we want to make this championship a memorable one. “We snatched a draw against Cameroon and now have to take the next games one at a time and make sure we qualify for the World Youth Championship,” said Dede, son of Ghanaian legend Abedi Pele.

Two-time champions Ghana are eager to make the most of this year’s edition after failing to qualify for the last two editions. The Black Satellites last appearance in the Championship came in 2003 in Burkina Faso where they were knocked out at the group stage.

A place in the semi-finals of the African Youth Championship would guarantee any side a place at the World Youth Championship. The Black Satellites face Mali this afternoon before winding up their group stage match against hosts Rwanda on Saturday.
