Mas-Ud “Didi” Dramani, says the delayed start to the 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Premier League would not affect Asante Kotoko's continental Champions League campaign.

He said a series of friendly matches had been lined up to keep the players in shape for the task ahead, with the technical team using these matches to straighten the rough edges.

He said the former champions will neither discount nor underestimate the challenge they face to conquer Africa.

“It will be a long and torturous journey but we are determined to stay the course and sail through”, he told the GNA Sports in Kumasi.

Coach Dramani indicated that they had targeted the money zone of the competition - a stage which comes with its own financial benefits.

He said the attacking strength of the team had been augmented by the re-signing on of Ivorian import, Ahmed Toure.

The current team, he said “is very promising” – a blend of young and experienced players who know what to do at the right time.

Meanwhile, information gathered by the GNA Sports indicates that the acting General Manager of Kotoko, Samuel Opoku-Nti, would on Friday, December 12, be confirmed.

He is expected to have a one-year mandate.
