Ghana's deputy Attorney General Joseph Kpemka has explained government's agreement with FIFA concerning the Ghana Football Association.

The government of Ghana has initiated steps to withdraw its decision to dissolve the Ghana Football Association following a meeting with FIFA over interference in the activities of the FA.

FIFA had earlier given government an ultimatum of August 27th to withdraw it's stance of dissolving the FA from court or face its wrath, hence a meeting was arranged with a resolution formed.

The outcome of the meeting was that government withdraws the case from court and a normalization committee be formed to replace the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

Joseph Kpemka insists government has a duty to respect the principle, rules and regulations of any international body it is affiliated to.

"We are living not as an island, but we live by a comity of nations and our membership of international organizations are predicated on principles, on rules, on regulations, and on law," Kpemka said on 3 FM.

“And so far as you subscribe to an international organization, then you must again agree with the principles, rules, and regulations governing that international organization.

"That’s a basic fact, so fundamental to any agreement that anybody can actually reach.”

Kpemka also spoke on government's decision to liquidate the FA after the scandal rocked the country in June.

"We invoked the appropriate sections of law which is the legal system in our country."

Ghana Football has been at a standstill since the airing of the Anas Expose'.
