German-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Kohn delivered a big performance to help Galatasaray defeat Konyaspor on the final day to clinch the Turkish Super Lig title.
The 25-year-old left-back lasted the entire duration when his outfit inflicted a 3-1 away win over their opponents at the Medaş Konya Büyükşehir Stadyumu to secure maximum points in the game.
Kohn assisted Mauro Icardi to open the scoring for the visitors in the 29th minute as they went to recess with the advantage.
After the break, Icardi fired home his second goal of the match to double the advantage for Galatasaray before Berkan Kutlu scored to seal the win for the visitors.
Denmark international Louka Prip pulled one back for the home team as the game ended 3-1 in favour of Galatasaray.
The winner of the Turkish Super Lig season had to be decided on the final day because of the point gap between Galatasaray and Fenerbache.
Galatasaray were three points ahead of Fenerbache before the final-day games. However, the win against Konyaspor has ensured Galatasaray emerged as champions of the 2023/24 league campaign with 102 points after 38 matches.
Kohn joined Galatasaray in February 2024 after leaving Hannover 96. He signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2026.
He made 12 appearances in the league, scoring one goal and providing one assist across the period.
