Marcel Desailly has undergone a fast-track coaching course in Wales to make him fully qualified for the vacant Ghana coaching post.
The ex-France captain was believed to have acquired all the certificates required by the Ghana Football Association for someone to coach the Black Stars.
It was widely propagated that Desailly had acquired his UEFA License A coaching badge when he threw his hat into the Ghana coaching ring.
But in truth Desailly has spent the last week in the United Kingdom trying to gain the certificate that is required by the GFA.
This comes as a shock to his supporters who had all along argued that he had acquired all the necessary coaching certificates.
He joined the likes of Craig Bellamy and former German internationals Dietmar Hamman for the course which was held just outside Cardiff.
The man who lifted the World Cup, the European Championships and the Champions League (twice) is now contemplating his next moves.
He is on the verge of launching a mammoth football academy in East Legon in Accra complete with gyms, shopping centres and hotel facilities.
