Desert-Bound Yeboah Officially Leaves HSV

As expected, Anthony Yeboah has agreed to prematurely terminate his contract with Hamburger SV in favour of a lucrative move to Qatar side Al-Ittihad Sports Club.

The 35-year-old Ghanaian, with a knack for scoring sensational goals, only managed two starts for HSV during the 2001/02 season, and was thus happy to be able to leave Hamburg on a free transfer.

“I like it in the Gulf and am sure playing football there will be great experience", said the former Leeds star.
