Briefing the press after a colourful ceremony, Nana Kwame Boadu, First, Founder and Director of DEELORM Soccer Academy, which is hosting the tournament said, the annual event aims at unearthing hidden talents in the hinterland.

He noted that there are a lot of potential young good footballers in the country but because of lack of exposure, their talents are not identified and exploited.

Nana Boadu said youth teams from Albania, Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Germany expressed their interest to participate but could not make it due to the inability to acquire the relevant documents and flight problems.

He, however, was hopeful that come next year, some European clubs would be able to participate to give it international flavour.

The Director said three cups are at stake in each category as well as cash prizes, medals and certificates for outstanding teams and players. In the opening match played at Dinham Park, the U-12 side of DEELORM academy beat AQUARIAN from Koforidua 9-0.
