Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng will not require a surgery to correct a troublesome knee according to his club coach Roberto Di Mateo.
Boateng has been absent for the Royal Blues in the Bundesliga and Europe for the past two weeks.
He will also sit out this Saturday’s trip to Stuttgart.
Answering questions from the media concerning the Ghana international, Di Mateo rebuffed suggestions Boateng needed a surgery to get back to full fitness.
“Boateng is responding to treatments and is getting better,” Di Mateo said.
“This weekend games come too early for him but he definitely does not require a surgery.”
Boateng has been battling injuries this season and that have restricted him to only seven Bundesliga appearances.
