Ghanaian football icon, Augustine Arhinful, has expressed his reluctance to pursue a coaching career in Ghana, citing the treatment of coaches within the country as his primary reason.

Arhinful revealed that he has obtained a coaching license A, but the idea of coaching in Ghana does not appeal to him due to the excessive criticism that coaches face.

The former Black Stars player noted that while the issues at various clubs in Ghana often stem from administrative and managerial shortcomings, coaches are frequently held responsible when problems arise.

Arhinful elaborated that his decision to avoid coaching roles in Ghana is influenced by the lack of respect coaches receive when their teams underperform.

"I have a coaching license A. The truth is that coaches here do not receive enough respect. I prefer to stay in my own lane rather than endure disrespect. While I am open to hearing others' opinions, I stand firm in having my own approach. In this country, club owners make the decisions, yet coaches are blamed for the problems.

"In my opinion, coaching issues make up only about 10%. The major concerns lie in administrative and managerial areas, but no one seems willing to address them. When you speak out, you are accused of talking too much. They are aware of their actions, but in the end, we will all move on, so why should I bother?" he shared with Dan Kwaku Yeboah, explaining his decision not to pursue coaching in Ghana.
