Football fans from Sunyani who witnessed the Division One League match between the two uniteds, Bechem and B/A Stars last Sunday experienced another stone -age era where brutalities was order of the day at Bechem.

The Bechem venue was so horrifying that apart from B/A fans and officials, pressmen and the military men assigned by RFA to come and settle peace were also denied entry in to the stadium. The military men were made to stand outside for almost 45 minutes and it took intenvention of match commissioner and RFA secretary Mr.Munufie phone call to allow them in.

One of the B/A Stars management members, Lawyer Wuliwise had his 4x4 wheel drive glasses broken. Again,f our B/A supporters were injured including a technical member, Nana who is was as aresulted admitted to the Sunyani Government Hospital. On the field of play, B/A Stars lost 3-0 to the home team but the centre referee’s bad performance portrayed the supporters idea that, once B/A had already qualified and Bechem FC needed the three points to qualify alongside B/A,why not help them instead,a dubious penalty and unnnecesary cards to the away team proved this. An exorbitant gate fee of 10 cedis was charged against the away team to deter them from entering. As a pressman, I gave them money but they did not allow me in and I think the Division One League Board chairman, Mr.Ntow Fianko is aware of this because I called him as the events unfolded.

The most furious thing is after the game, they counter-crossed the team and the supporters at Dua-Nkwanta and it took the intenvention of the police and military men who were dispatching the team to Sunyani to avert this massacre of hooligans.

Both teams have qualified but the battle has not yet ended as they will go to Kumasi to play Middle league in May, and that’s when B/A could decide to also seek revenge. So I am appealing to the Division One League Board, GFA and PLB to do all they can to stop this to-be hooligans.

One Bechem FC fan was arrested all the way to Sunyani and he will be facing court soon, that is what we should be doing to deter others.
