Dolphin technical adviser bemoans Ghanaian-born coach

TECHNICAL Adviser of Premier League defending champion, Dolphin of Port Harcourt, Musa Abdullahi, has called on the management board of Nigeria Football League (NFL) to revisit the 16-match ban placed on the club's chief coach, Phillip Boamah, in the on-going league season.

Abdullahi, while describing the incidents leading to the issuance of the sanction and the eventual suspension as unfortunate, pleaded for mercy on behalf of his assistant.

The Kogi-born sweat merchant, who said he has, for long, been pleading and appealing to NFL that the suspension of a coach for 16 matches appear too heavy a sanction, further appealed to the league board to "temper justice with mercy".

"Perhaps because it is affecting us directly, I am now beginning to think that the judgment is too bard on us," Abdullahi said.

The former U-23 national team handler, who was speaking with media shortly after his side was mauled 3-0 by 3SC in a rescheduled league tie in Ibadan, pointed out that the need for Boamah's technical input in Dolphin's quest to retain the league shield can never be over emphasised.

His words: "Two heads are always better than one. I have always been on the bench alone and I often require advise and suggestions which he (Boamah) would have been able to offer and together, we achieve better results."

"Only recently, we were also axed and made to play in an empty stadium. I think this is becoming too much on us, NFL should temper justice with mercy. I am pleading," Abdullahi said.
