Former Asante Kotoko head coach Isaac 'Opeele' Boateng has expressed strong disappointment in the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following their significant loss in the 2024 general elections.
In a series of tweets, he criticised the party leaders for ignoring calls to address issues surrounding former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta, which he claims contributed to the party's poor performance.
"The NPP leaders who apologize should be ashamed of themselves. We told you the finance minister was causing the party harm, but you never listened," Opeele wrote.
"You have disgraced, annihilated, and humiliated many NPP followers for years to come," he added.
The NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, conceded defeat shortly after the polls closed.
The party lost by a wide margin, with Bawumia securing 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%, while the president-elect, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), won with 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55%.

You have disgraced, annihilated and humiliated many of the NPP followers for years to come.
Shameful Results!
