Controversial Samatex FC new signing, Bernard Don Bortey, has suggested to all Sports Journalist in Ghana to be well educated and have accurate details of stories before making it public.
Bortey left Equatoguinean side Panthers FC after they were eliminated by Ghana outfit Medeama SC in the 2013/14 CAF Confederation cup campaign.
The former Hearts of Oak talisman has been without a club after ending his failed stint with Swedish outfit Ange IF.
The 34-year-old on his return to Ghana has blamed the local media for consistent false reportage and deliberate attempt to tarnish image.
This was in relation to a media report, months ago claiming he used a fake International Transfer Certificate(ITC) which resulted in his end stay with Swedish second tier side Ange IF.
“Sports Journalist in Ghana must be very careful in what they say on air, they come on air and say negatives things about people,” Bernard Don Bortey exclusively told Kumasi-based FOX FM
“I went to Sweden few months ago and they were reports in the local media claiming I used a fake ITC, I’m not Kwesi Nyantakyi to issue a fake International Transfer Certificate (ITC) because now everything is done online I don’t even know how to sign Kwesi Nyantakyi’s signature.
“If they want to be a Sports Journalist they must be well educated to enhance in bring out good sports broadcasting ethics. Some of the media men in Ghana deliberately go on air to say stories which will make them popular and their media house.
“I will take this media platform to advice all Sports Journalist to be very careful on what they say on air, “He added
The humble Lion as he is called has joined Ghana second tier side Samatex FC in the second transfer window in the ongoing GN Bank Division One league.
