The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Kwabena Yeboah, has offered valuable advice to Black Stars head coach Otto Addo as he takes charge of the national team for the second time.

Speaking at the press briefing for the squad announcement on May 29, 2024, the veteran sports journalist urged Otto Addo to take criticism in good faith.

According to him although some of the criticisms might be very harsh and personal it is for the good of both the team and the country.

“You are the official coach but the real coaches are here. So the criticisms will come in. Some will be caustic. Some will be very vitriolic…but in all that, just relax and understand that as journalists, we mean well,” Yeboah advised.

He further emphasized that “don’t take the criticisms personally but they will come in fast and thick…but in all this just understand that we are this together and we all want to see the good of the team."

Coach Otto Addo announced the Black squad for the games against Mali and the Central African Republic on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

The Black Stars are scheduled to face Mali in Bamako on June 6, followed by a match against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10.
