Ace sports broadcaster Dan Kwaku Yeboah is perplexed by the apparent fixation of Ghanaian politicians on acquiring state-owned properties.

The head of Despite Media's sports team is puzzled that, despite the fleeting nature of life, Ghanaian politicians continue to take over state properties for themselves through questionable means.

Speaking on Okay FM, Kwaku Yeboah tried to comprehend the mindset of some Ghanaian politicians and their obsession with accumulating wealth.

He pointed out instances where public officials occupy state buildings and then refuse to vacate them when their term is over.

"What is going on in this country? These same politicians who engage in these activities attend funerals every weekend. So, don't they learn anything from the funerals of their colleagues? Can't they realize that they entered this world with nothing and will leave with nothing?

"Maybe I have a poverty mindset and theirs is different, but I don't understand. Someone will stay in a government bungalow that has been around since the era of Kwame Nkrumah and then refuse to give it up when their time is up," he said.

Kwaku Yeboah's disbelief at the unfolding events in the country was sparked by an allegation from Kwame Nkrumah Tikese that the apartment for prison officers behind the headquarters of the Ghana Police Service at Cantonments in Accra has been sold to a private developer.

Nkrumah Tikese claimed that the prison officers currently residing in the facility have been instructed to leave by July 2024.
