Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has admitted he does not know whether key midfielder Sulley Muntari will be fit to start the World Cup.

Muntari's potential absence could mark another injury setback for Ghana, who are already missing Michael Essien.

The 25-year-old aggravated a thigh strain against Holland on Tuesday and missed the win over Latvia on Saturday.

He also did not train with the rest of the Black Stars squad throughout their stay in Europe last week.

The midfielder has been examined further by Ghana team doctors and medics from his club side Inter Milan.

But Rajevac confessed on Saturday that he was no wiser about whether he will have him available ahead of Ghana's campaign.

"I can't definitely say for now," the Serbian coach told BBC Sport. "We have to wait for the results of all the tests and scans to know for a fact. "Maybe he is also nervous because we are not certain about anything but I hope we have him available because he has shown a lot of commitment since we have been in the training camp."

Rajevac resolved his differences with Muntari, after sensationally dropping him from Ghana's squad that eventually finished runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

He had since become a central member of the squad once again. Ghana open their Group D account against Serbia on Sunday, 13 June.
