Dr Lawrence Tetteh, an International Evangelist, on Monday asked the Black Stars to stay focus and make the nation proud by winning convincingly the first leg play-off of the World Cup encounter against Egypt in Kumasi.

He said Ghanaians are looking forward to a victory at the Baba Yara Stadium against the Pharaoh’s and so the players of the National Team should make the dream come true.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra, he said as the Main Speaker of Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship National Convention in Kumasi, he had the privilege to interact with a number of the players who had camped in the Ashanti Regional capital and prayed with them.

“I slept with the players in the same hotel and I prayed with Asamoah Gyan and Michael Essien and encouraged them to do honour for Ghana,” he said.

He said he also met with Akwasi Appiah, the Head Coach of the Black Stars and inspired him to make Ghana proud at the World Cup tournament in Brazil.

Dr Tetteh, who is the UK/Ireland Chaplain of the Christian Council of Ghana, noted that soccer is a particular sport that has no political colours and tend to unite the country, hence the need for the players to use their Godly aspirations to win the day for the nation.

He spoke against the unsavoury comments people are making against some of the players, adding that such acts kill their morale.

Dr Tetteh said most of the players are international celebrities and needs to be celebrated by their own.

“We should learn to celebrate our own, and should not weaken the front of the Black Stars,” he stressed.
