Board chairman of Ghana premier league outfit Medeama SC, Dr Toni Aubynn has disclosed the reasons behind his decision to contest for a position onto the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the upcoming elections.
According to the Ghana Minerals Commission CEO, his this to view for a slot on GFA's highest decision making body was "well thought through".
Speaking on Kickoff sports on Atinka TV, Dr. Aubynn minced no words in elaborating what led to his decision.
"None of GFA Presidential Candidate is above my standard, I respect all of them, some are my friends and all that, but no one is above me", the Medeama Chairman said.
"Some people came to me, and ask that I contest for the GFA Presidential position, I didn’t give a response though the news was all over place.
"My decision to contest for the Executive council position was a well thought through and a strategic one", he added.
Dr. Toni Aubynn also explained that it's better for him to contest the Executive Council and be part of the decision making process.
"It is better for me to be part of the GFA through the Executive council and contribute my expertise than to go for the Presidency and lose and not be part at all.
"So I don’t see the qualms about me contesting for the Executive council position", he concluded.
