Cape Coast, June 20, GNA - The mortal remains of John Kofi Mensah, popularly known as "Awona", former goalkeeper of Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs was on Saturday laid to rest at Asokyeano cemetery, near Cape Coast in the Central Region.
Cape Coast, June 20, GNA - The mortal remains of John Kofi Mensah, popularly known as "Awona", former goalkeeper of Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs was on Saturday laid to rest at Asokyeano cemetery, near Cape Coast in the Central Region. Mr Mensah died after a protracted illness in April this year at Cape Coast at the age of 67. In a tribute, Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association described the late Mr Mensah as a dedicated footballer who was committed to his Club during his football career. Mr Doe said that even after retiring from active football, Mensah voluntarily assisted in training goalkeepers for his former team.
