Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie is optimistic his ban from football by the Dzamefe Commission holds no water.

Afriyie was invited by the commission after the 2014 World Cup debacle, to answer questions as to the happenings in Brazil that led to some acrimonies.

The commission after the hearings, made recommendations to government to act on, as some football officials including George Afriyie, were to be penalized for the various roles they played in the run up to the shameful Brazil debacle.

These officials were asked to stay away from football issues and from the national teams.

The government’s white paper issued on the findings were upheld, but n action has since been taken against the said officials found guilty.

Afriyie in an interview blew cold air on his ban, claiming the issue was dead and buried.

“For the commission’s report, someone will say is dead and buried, because if you use hatred in doing something, this is what it results into”, he said.

“For me personally, I don’t see anywhere I can be charged with an adverse finding. You invited me as a non-target witness, and to help investigate and I turn out to be a target witness, well we are waiting”, Afriyie added.

The commission’s report accused Afriyie and some members of the FA of sharing monies which they failed to account for.
