The Government White Paper on the Dzamefe Commission of Enquiry that looked into the Black Stars involvement in the Brazil 2014 World Cup, has recommended that the ‘co efficient theory’, as propounded by Kwesi Nyantakyi, should be dismissed.
The report stated that; “the concept of “coefficient” and definition of “management”, as propounded by the GFA President, should be dismissed.”
One of the highlights of the Dzamefe Commission sitting was the appearance of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) president; when he sought to explain to the commissioners how an amount of about $557,000 was shared as appearance fee between five Black Stars management committee members.
In other issues, E-volution International, the company that produced and managed Fan Parks to screen the World Cup matches to fans in Ghana; is also to be subject to further investigation and they are to pay any net income accruing from their activities back to the state’s chest.
It would be recalled that the testimony of Fred Darko, Chief Executive of the company who also doubled as Project Coordinator of the World Cup Organizing Committee, was dogged with several inconsistencies and amendments whiles answering questions from the commission on certain issues.
The GFA had cancelled an earlier press briefing to respond to issues raised in the White Paper as a result of their lawyers inability to make their input.
