Egypt FA deny Black Stars special security

Ghana Football Association (GFA) have been dealt a blow in their request for special security procedures ahead of the crucial tie against the Pharaohs of Egypt in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualification.

Rumours emanated in the media that a group of Egyptian supporters are plotting an attack on the head coach of the Black Stars Avram Grant when the Pharaohs host the Stars on November 13th at the Borg El-Arab stadium.

However, chief executive director of the Egypt Football Association, Tharwat Sweilam has frowned on the suggestion by declaring that it’s a strategy deployed by Ghana to sway their attention from the impending crunch game.

Tharwat Sweilam said, “Ghana is a normal team just like any other opponent that visits Egypt. We’ll not change our security procedure.”

“We don’t care about the nationality of their manager because we know too well the capabilities of our security forces and their worth to guard any national team. We don’t want to dissipate our concentration because we’re fully aware of the tactics Ghana is trying to establish, but we don’t want to play along by answering these statements in the media.”

“We, our priority is to win the game in order to move closer to our goal of qualifying to the World Cup.”
