Former Egyptian international Ahmed Hossam Mido
Former Egyptian international, Ahmed Hossam Mido has launched a fierce attack on Confederation of African Football following its controversial decision to strip Senegal of the Africa Cup of Nations title and award it to Morocco.
In a strongly worded statement, Mido described CAF as “a real joke” and labeled the ruling as “the biggest scandal in the history of football.”
The former striker did not hold back, criticizing African football leadership and calling for sweeping changes.
“There must be a revolution in African football. All these people must go today, not tomorrow,” Mido fumed.
While emphasizing that his comments were not directed at Morocco, Mido insisted that the outcome of the final should have stood, arguing that Senegal were the rightful winners on the pitch.
“You lost on the pitch. Senegal were the better team in the final , they deserve to be champions of Africa. It’s clear, simple, and you all know it,” he said.
Mido added that he could not congratulate Morocco for what he described as a victory decided “in the office and not on the pitch,” despite expressing respect and admiration for the Moroccan people.
